Description

This is an ideal private tour for Nikko sightseeing. You will be traveling with an English/Chinese-speaking National Licensed Guide on the whole itinerary. A ticket for unlimited bus rides in Nikko is included for your convenience.

Enjoy the train journey from Asakusa to Nikko with reserved seats on a limited express train. This tour includes famous places which are "must-visit" in Nikko. You will be visiting the World Heritage Site "Nikko Toshogu Shrine", Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji with the tour guide.

Lunch will be Yuba Gozen set meal. The Nikko area is especially well known for Yuba, one of the many food products made from soybeans which is also an ingredient used for Shojin Ryori (Buddhist cuisine). This tour will be a great opportunity to see the historically and naturally beautiful Nikko. For the return journey, you have a choice between the limited express train and the Shinkansen.

Meet with the tour guide at TOBU Tourist Information Center ASAKUSA at 8:30am. The licensed tour guide will accompany you on the whole itinerary. Get on a Limited Express train from Asakusa station and enjoy the train journey for approximately 2 hours.

Once you arrive in Nikko, you will hop on a local bus to Shinkyo Bridge for a quick stroll before having lunch at Fujiya Kanko Center for 45 minutes. Lunch will be a Nikko delicacy, "Yuba Gozen set lunch" which celebrates yuba (tofu skin) cuisine which the city is famous for. The meal also includes tempura, Udon noodles with mountain vegetables, cooked rice with bamboo shoot and more. Afterwards, you will head to the famous World Heritage Site “Nikko Toshogu Shrine”. It will be a memorable opportunity to visit the large and gorgeous shrine as it is hidden in such a quiet mountain area. Learn the history of the shrine listening to the English-speaking guide. You will spend a generous 2 hours at this special Shrine. Please note that the admission fee for Futsuran Jinja Shrine, which is next to Toshogu, is not included and you will have to pay yourselves.

After lunch, you will hop on the local bus again and head to the next destination “Kegon Falls”. The waterfall is about 97 meters high. You will be able to feel the dynamic waterfall from an observatory deck. The tour group will also visit Lake Chuzenji which is located near the waterfall. Lake Chuzenji has beautiful scenery as it is surrounded by large mountains. It will be very refreshing to stop by the lake. Around an hour will be spent here.

The tour will head back to Nikko station after visiting the lake to catch the return train. To travel back to Tokyo, you will either use the limited express train (like the outbound journey) to Tobu Asakusa Station or the Shinkansen to Tokyo Station, depending on the option you chose. Enjoy the train journey back. Arrival time is expected to be around 19:15 for both journeys.

The tour guide will lead the tour group up to the exit of the stations, so you do not need to worry about getting lost.
